About the role

The Department of Accounting seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applications at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Specific course offerings may vary by semester, and teaching opportunities are dependent on departmental needs. The anticipated need is for courses covering various areas of Accounting, including but not limited to financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, accounting information systems, and ethics in accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Accounting, including but not limited to financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, accounting information systems, and ethics in accounting.
  • Develop and maintain course materials and syllabi.
  • Maintain current knowledge of accounting trends and developments.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committee work.
  • Assist with curriculum development and assessment.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in the discipline or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned courses(s).
  • Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Industry experience and certifications relevant to the teaching area.
  • Teaching experience at the college level.

Qualifications

The Department of Accounting promotes professional and ethical development through education, research, and service that advance the field of accounting. UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Effective communication skills, ability to teach in a diverse classroom, and proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and discipline, in accordance with university guidelines and available funding.
