About the Role
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Emergency Medical Technician classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
Responsibilities
- Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
- Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
- Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
- Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
- Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
- Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
- Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
- Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
- Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
- Attends professional development opportunities when possible

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationship with students, peers, supervisors and staff
- Working knowledge of MS Office products
Requirements

- Credentialed as a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician or as a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician
Preferences
- Associate's degree
- Knowledge of Blackboard (an online Learning Management System)
