Adjunct Instructor, East Asian Studies (Part Time) (Multiple Positions)
The Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Arizona invites applications for two part-time Adjunct Instructor positions for the 2026–2027 academic year. The department seeks candidates with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence. The positions’ FTE will vary based on teaching load and the number of units assigned per section.
About the role
This position involves teaching one or more courses in East Asian studies, including but not limited to Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages and cultures. Responsibilities may include developing course materials, attending department meetings, and participating in faculty committees.
Responsibilities
- Teach one or more courses in East Asian studies, including but not limited to Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages and cultures.
- Develop course materials as needed.
- Attend department meetings and participate in faculty committees.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in East Asian Studies or a related field.
- Strong teaching skills and a commitment to undergraduate education.
- Experience teaching East Asian languages and cultures is preferred.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Skills
- Proficiency in East Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean).
