Adjunct History Professor

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students enrolled in introductory-level history courses.
• Teach classes in‑person at multiple campuses and off‑campus sites, including high schools.
• Conduct appropriate learning activities.
• Maintain effective instructional management.
• Participate in all required orientation, meetings and trainings.
• Adhere to all college‑designated deadlines.
• Participate in Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessments.

Requirements

• Master of Arts in History; or Master of Arts in a related field plus 18 graduate credit hours in history.

Preferred Qualifications

• Past experience teaching introductory college history courses, especially in the community college setting.

Pay

Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three‑credit‑hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours; any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.

Residing Outside of South Carolina: If selected for a remote adjunct position with Midlands Technical College and you do not reside in South Carolina, your employment will be through KellyOCG, the employer‑of‑record partner supporting all remote out‑of‑state workforce requirements.
