About the role
The Department of Writing Arts seeks qualified adjuncts to teach courses in technical and professional writing, including Introduction to Technical Writing, Writing for the Workplace, Writing for Nonprofits, and Editing for Publication.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in technical and professional writing
- Work with students to develop their writing skills
- Evaluate student work and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental meetings and committee work
Requirements
- A master’s degree in an appropriate field, such as Composition/Rhetoric, Communication Studies, Business Administration, Strategic Communication, or Human Factors
- Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience teaching technical writing or professional writing
- Favorable recommendations from references
- Favorable previous student evaluations
- Experience or expertise in usability, user experience, and/or accessible design is particularly desired

- Eligible to work in the United States

Benefits
- Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught
- Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year
Pay
- $2,225 per credit
