About the role
The School of Pharmacy seeks an adjunct faculty-student success navigator to support student learning experiences and success in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. The selected candidate will work primarily in a remote capacity, focusing on early identification of student academic challenges and facilitation of support strategies to promote progression.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Student Engagement and Success, faculty, and academic coaches to provide success planning for PharmD students.
- Conduct prompt analyses and outreach to students for individualized academic coaching and interventions.
- Monitor academic performance in real time and implement individualized early intervention strategies.
- Provide longitudinal support for at-risk learners.
- Conduct remote and/or in-person meetings with at-risk learners as needed.
- Identify and support student learning needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student meetings, progress, and outcomes.
- Submit end-of-semester reports on trends, student needs, and outcomes.
- Coordinate with University student support services, including ADA compliance, counseling, and academic resource offices.
- Engage in weekly meetings with the School’s administrative team in charge of student success.
- Use the University’s learning management system, ExamSoft, and Student Success Hub to support student engagement.
- Visit classes periodically to discuss the Navigator program with students.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- PharmD (preferred) or B.S. Pharmacy with relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and interact with students, faculty, administration, and staff at all levels.
- Proficiency in the School’s learning management system, assessment platforms, and technologies for videoconferencing, documentation, and communication.
Qualifications
- Experience in academic coaching, advising, and remediation (preferred).
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or advising students (preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
