This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
About the Role
Teaches a full range of lectures, labs, and clinical experiences in sterile processing and distribution and assists the Program Director as needed.
- Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
- Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, clinical work, assignments, papers, and examinations
- Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines
- Visits student clinical sites as required
- Available to students for coaching
- Attends periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
- Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), with a minimum of three years practicing as a sterile processing technician
- Current sterile processing experience and/or current experience as an instructor in sterile processing
- Demonstrated instruction for sterile processing students
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
- Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related discipline
- Teaching experience
Pay
$942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU).
Schedule
To be determined based on business unit needs. Classes may be offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Candidates should indicate their availability when applying.
