Adjunct Faculty, Sterile Processing

This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

About the Role

Teaches a full range of lectures, labs, and clinical experiences in sterile processing and distribution and assists the Program Director as needed.

• Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
• Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, clinical work, assignments, papers, and examinations
• Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines
• Visits student clinical sites as required
• Available to students for coaching
• Attends periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
• Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), with a minimum of three years practicing as a sterile processing technician
• Current sterile processing experience and/or current experience as an instructor in sterile processing
• Demonstrated instruction for sterile processing students
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
• Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related discipline
• Teaching experience

Pay

$942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU).

Schedule

To be determined based on business unit needs. Classes may be offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Candidates should indicate their availability when applying.
