About the role
The Adjunct Instructor will provide direction, supervision, and instruction in clinical and/or lab areas, making expectations and objectives clear, and actively participating in teaching clinical and lab procedures.
Responsibilities
- Select clients and/or experiences according to the clinical focus as outlined in the course syllabus when possible.
- Participate in teaching clinical and lab procedures.
- Aid students with clinical data interpretation.
- Conduct pre- and/or post-conference sessions each clinical day.
- Supervise students during clinical and lab hours and ensure adherence to program policies and standards.
- Record and maintain anecdotal notes on student performance.
- Provide ongoing constructive verbal and written feedback to students regarding their clinical and/or lab performance.
- Attend divisional, program, or level meetings as required.
- Inform the Sterile Processing Programs Administrator or course lead instructors of any agency problems/concerns.
- Discuss agency problems with the Program Administrator, where appropriate.
- Formally evaluate students on clinical performance in writing on the program evaluation form at midterm of each semester and at the end of each term.
- Hold private conferences with students for the review of clinical and/or lab performance evaluations.
- Participate in the divisional faculty evaluation process according to divisional policy.
Qualifications
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) with valid certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the Sterile Processing Technician or as an CRCST instructor or both within the last five years.
- AHA CPR BLS Certified and current.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate and/or bachelor’s degree in applied science.
- Experience with blended course instruction and development.
- Strong technology skills including knowledge of college procedures related to course instruction and management.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, PeopleSoft, and Canvas Learning Management System.
