Position Purpose

Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work in the BSW program, with opportunities to teach across the BSW core curriculum.
  • Teach Social Work with Groups, Social Work with Individuals, Human Behavior in the Social Environment I and II, Social Work Research, and Social Work with Communities and Organizations.
  • Facilitate courses in person at the Aurora campus.
  • Meet weekly grading deadlines and maintain up-to-date grade books.
  • Be responsive to student email messages and requests for assistance.
  • Provide mentorship in the discipline and content expertise.
  • Respond to all university and departmental requests, emails, messages, and correspondence.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: An MSW degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience are required.
  • Weekday availability is required, as BSW courses are offered in a cohort structure on either M/W/F or T/Th.
  • Experience teaching is strongly preferred.

Skills

The anticipated pay rate for this position is $1,100 per credit hour. This compensation is subject to change at the sole discretion of the university, based on institutional needs. The pay range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted amount the university reasonably expects to pay for this position. The final pay rate will not be below the lowest pay rate listed herein.
