Adjunct Faculty - SMIT Student Success Navigator

Responsibilities

  • Delivers high quality learning experiences and education for students in the school’s program.
  • Works primarily in a remote capacity, with responsibilities centered on academic mentoring, early identification of student challenges, and facilitation of student support strategies to promote progression and professional development.
  • Supports undergraduate-level Medical Imaging and Therapy students across didactic semesters.
  • Conducts prompt analysis and outreach to students to provide individualized academic coaching, mentoring, interventions, and success planning for SMIT students.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student meetings, progress, and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Student Success Team.
  • Collaborates with course coordinators and faculty to identify and support student learning needs.
  • Coordinates with University student support services, including ADA compliance, counseling, and academic resource offices.
  • Affords assistance in interventions, remediation plan development, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Reports trends, student needs, and outcomes to the Dean, Program Directors and Associate Provost of Student Success.
  • Engages in ongoing development of student support tools and processes.
  • Uses the University’s learning management system and approved communication tools to support student engagement.
  • Engages in weekly meetings with student success rounds team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Medical Imaging, Health Sciences).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching or clinical experience in medical imaging or related fields.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student success and academic coaching.

Preferred:

  • Doctorate in a related field.
  • Experience with remote teaching and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of disability accommodations and resources.
