About the role

Current Opening Mount Aloysius College, repeatedly recognized by ModernThink as a “Great College to Work For,” seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate coursework in our Psychology Program. Opportunities are available to teach one or more sections of PSYC 101 General Psychology on an Adjunct basis during the Fall 2026 semester in person at our DuBois location during the day or evening across the 15-week semester. Additional opportunities may become available to teach undergraduate general education CORE courses in person at our DuBois site during the Spring 2027 semester.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate coursework in our Psychology Program.
• Teach one or more sections of PSYC 101 General Psychology in person at our DuBois location during the day or evening across the 15-week semester.
• Teach additional undergraduate general education CORE courses in person at our DuBois site during the Spring 2027 semester.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience at the collegiate level required, preferably teaching introductory psychology courses.
• Mastery of diverse psychological content and the ability to relate concepts to everyday experiences.
• Engage students in the discipline and the learning process through a range of teaching methods using appropriate technology.
• Supportive and adaptable while helping students achieve high academic standards.
• Experience using the Canvas Learning Management System, or a similar LMS, to create an interactive, student-centered learning environment in the classroom and support continued learning outside the classroom is preferred.

• Reliable, willing to learn new content and pedagogical techniques.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.

Pay

Adjunct appointments are single-semester opportunities only, with no guarantee of future appointments. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
