About the role
The UTA School of Social Work seeks qualified candidates for part-time adjunct faculty in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs. Adjunct faculty contribute to the School’s mission by preparing students for ethical, evidence-informed, and professionally responsive social work practice. Teaching assignments may include in-person and/or online courses at the UTA main campus, UTA West, or through online delivery, depending on program needs, enrollment, modality, and candidate expertise. Course assignments may vary by semester and may include courses in human behavior in the social environment, research, generalist, clinical, and macro practice, policy, field-related content, and elective topics. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as teaching needs arise.
UTA’s School of Social Work — one of the largest and most respected social work programs in the country, serving more than 2,200 students across the BSW, MSW, and Ph.D. levels — is entering a defining season of growth. The School is launching a new online Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program and expanding its footprint with a new program presence at the UTA West campus in Parker County. Faculty will have opportunities to support the success of the new online DSW program and engage with the School’s expanding presence at UTA West. The School is home to the Center for Addiction and Recovery Studies (CARS), the Child Welfare Research Center (CWRC), the Emotional Robotics Living Lab (ERLL), the Studying Alcohol and Related Risks (STARR) Lab, the Preventing & Intervening on Violence Over Time (PIVOT) Lab, and the Social Networks for Social Good (SNSG) Lab.
