Adjunct Faculty - Physics
About the role
The Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of New Haven is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach introductory Physics lectures, including General Physics I or II (algebra based) lectures and laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Teach one or more introductory Physics lectures, including General Physics I or II (algebra based) lectures and laboratories.
- Present a teaching demonstration via Zoom.
Requirements
- A Master's or Ph.D. in Physics or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience teaching college-level preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with preparing courses using best pedagogical practices.
- Experience with instructional technology.
- Experience with previous online/remote or hybrid teaching, using web-based instructional software, or other learning management systems.
- Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly adopt, the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Physics or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience teaching college-level preferred.
Skills
Candidates should demonstrate the following skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with instructional technology.

Pay
The pay rate is determined on a per-course basis.
Schedule
You will be expected to teach one or more introductory Physics lectures, including General Physics I or II (algebra based) lectures and laboratories, typically during the Fall 2026 semester.
