About The Opportunity

The Department of Physics in the College of Science at Northeastern University invites applications for Adjunct Faculty positions at the Oakland campus. These appointments are contingent upon enrollment, available funding, and departmental needs, with anticipated start dates in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate Physics courses
  • Contribute to departmental activities
  • Administer student assessments
  • Maintain regular office hours to support student success

Requirements

  • Teach instruction for two or more of the following courses in-person: PHYS 1151, PHYS 1152, PHYS 1153, PHYS 1155, PHYS 1156, and PHYS 1157

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field, and relevant teaching experience. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and a passion for engaging students in physics are essential.

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and administrative staff. Proficiency in using educational technology tools is also beneficial.

Pay

The per-credit rate as of January 1, 2026 is $2,435.76.
