Major Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
- Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
- Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
Education And Experience
- Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.
- Faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution.
- Holds an Indiana paramedic certification.
- Holds an Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification.
- Has two years of directly related work experience.
Qualifications
- For Paramedic Science Program Standard: Meets the Paramedic Science program standard, or holds both a current Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification and a current EMT or higher certification.
- For PARM 102, 105, 225 Course Standard: Meets the Paramedic Science program standard, or holds both a current Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification and a current EMT or higher certification.
- For PARM 111, 112, 115, 200, 210, 213, 215 and 220 Course Standard: Meets the Paramedic Science program standard, or holds an Indiana paramedic certification.
- For PARM 116, 216, 219, 221 Course Standard: Meets the Paramedic Science program standard, or holds an Indiana paramedic certification.
