Adjunct Faculty - EMT Paramedic

Waubonsee Community College’s Health Professions and Public Service division is seeking adjunct instructors for Paramedic EMT courses for the 2026 cohort. Courses include embedded lab experiences within didactic class times and occur at Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL, as programmed by the Southern Fox Valley EMS System.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in assigned courses.
• Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and engagement with large groups on complex material.
• Instruct lecture, skills, or clinical components of the Paramedic Program per IDPH guidelines.
• May schedule and manage students' clinical rotations.
• Prepare syllabi and instruct assigned courses based on course outlines, incorporating learning-centered principles.
• Meet all college deadlines for attendance, grades, and data collection for student learning assessment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to serve student and community needs.
• Handle course paperwork, including attendance, grade postings, and review/entry of students' clinicals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Illinois Paramedic license in good standing.
• Pass a drug test per hospital regulations.
• Provide immunization records (e.g., Covid, Flu) per hospital regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active IDPH EMT-P Lead Instructor Certification.
• Associate degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of teaching at the college level.
• Previous teaching or training experience.

Pay

$50.00 per hour.
