About the role
Waubonsee Community College’s Health Professions and Public Service division is currently seeking adjunct instructors for Paramedic EMT courses for the 2026 cohort 6. These positions include embedded lab experiences within didactic class times. Adjunct faculty members deliver curriculum, provide instruction, and perform student learning assessments, demonstrating the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
All courses occur at Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL, as programmed by the Southern Fox Valley EMS System.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the division Dean.
- Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to engage large groups with complex material.
- Instruct in lecture, skills, or clinicals in the Paramedic Program per IDPH guidelines.
- May schedule and manage students' clinical rotations.
- Prepare the syllabus, instruct the assigned course based on the course outline, and incorporate learning-centered college principles and concepts.
- Meet all WCC deadlines for submission of attendance, grades, and data collection for assessment of student learning.
- Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
- Handle course paperwork such as attendance and grade postings, and review and enter students' clinicals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Illinois Paramedic license in good standing.
- Must submit to and pass a drug test per hospital regulations.
- Must provide immunization records (e.g., Covid, Flu) per hospital regulations.
Qualifications
- Active IDPH EMT-P Lead Instructor Certification is preferred.
- Associate degree or higher is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of teaching at the college level is preferred.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
Pay
$50.00 per hour.
