Responsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and an awareness of new developments in the field;
- Integrate theory content into the student(s) clinical assignment;
- Communicate with course faculty regularly to track student progress or to develop performance improvement plans to support student learning;
- Responsible for conducting clinical evaluations;
- Assign, supervise, plan experiences, and evaluate students in practice learning environments based on course and program student learning outcomes;
- Provides support, guidance, and instruction on all aspects of patient care while at the clinical facility or laboratory classroom;
- Demonstrate procedures and patient care in clinical or laboratory nursing settings;
- Provide feedback to the assistant dean of nursing, program director, and clinical placement coordinator on the appropriateness of the health care agency in terms of teaching/learning environments for students;
- Provide feedback on student achievement of student learning outcomes;
- Attend orientation on campus;
- Participate in clinical faculty mentoring as identified by the Assistant Dean of Nursing and course faculty;
- Participate in the Programs’ continuous improvement efforts, which include BORN and ACEN requirements;
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the programs.
Requirements
- Current unencumbered Massachusetts RN license;
- Recent clinical practice in relevant areas: All areas of nursing are encouraged to apply;
- Must meet one of the following requirements: MSN with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience; or BSN with 2 years of nursing experience and matriculated in an MSN program with expected graduation within 5 years; or BSN and a minimum of five years of full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent and evidence of clinical competence in the area(s) of clinical instruction;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;
- Clinical teaching experience preferred.
