Adjunct Faculty, Non-Credit, Community Education

Qualifications

• An equivalent or applicable combination of education and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, with teaching experience in continuing education or community education.
• Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
• Must perform assigned duties within the State of Colorado and accurately report work location at all times.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned by designated supervisor.
• Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course outcomes.
• Develop professional relationships with students and staff to encourage communication.
• Assist in student recruitment, as appropriate.
• When agreed upon, assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
• Represent the college professionally to promote a positive public image.
• Complete all required annual CMC training courses (e.g., Title IX, Digital Accessibility, Data Security and Privacy).
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay

Non-credit Community Education compensation is based on Pay Levels ranging from 1-5, with rates between $20-$60 per hour. A new faculty’s Pay Level is determined by the campus supervisor based on expertise and evidence in the instructional area.

Schedule

Teaching responsibilities include a course load as assigned by the supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Constant sitting; occasional walking, standing, and driving.
• Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling.
• Frequent reaching with hands/arms and use of finger movements.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
• Constant written and oral communication; occasional reasoning, analyzing, and performing calculations.
• Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment; occasional driving.

Supervision

This position reports to the campus non-credit Community Education coordinator or campus designee.
