About the role
Teach specific classes in the designated discipline. Develop course syllabi and instructional materials. Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress. Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS. Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in the teaching field, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the teaching field.
- Must reside in the (DC, VA, MD) DMV area.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the teaching field, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the teaching field.
- Experience teaching in higher education, especially in a community college.
- Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
- Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.
Skills
- Ability to effectively teach classrooms and labs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.

- Ability to use instructional technology.

Pay
Adjunct faculty teaching PSY are paid per credit hour based on rank: Instructor ($935), Assistant Professor ($1,047), Associate Professor ($1,160), and Professor ($1,249).

Varies according to class schedules.
