Adjunct Faculty - Lecturers & Lab Instructors - Microbiology (Cresson) - Fall 2026

About the role

Courses in multiple content areas of Microbiology will be taught on an adjunct basis at the start of the Fall 2026 semester in Cresson, PA. Opportunities exist for both lecture and lab instruction.

Responsibilities

• Create an interactive, student-centered learning environment in the classroom.
• Use Canvas Learning Management System to provide students with basic course materials.
• Teach 15-week courses in person at the Main Campus in Cresson during daytime hours.
• Lecture may be offered twice or three times a week, depending on need.
• Lab is scheduled once a week in the evening at Mount Aloysius College.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Biology or related field.
• At least two (2) years of relevant classroom teaching experience.
• Collegiate teaching experience is highly preferred.
• Lab instruction experience preferred.
• Experience using Canvas Learning Management System, or similar LMS preferred.
• The ability to remain flexible, employ a range of teaching methods, and effectively incorporate technology into the teaching/learning process.
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and organizational and record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biology or related field and at least two (2) years of relevant classroom teaching experience required.
• Collegiate teaching experience is highly preferred.
• Lab instruction experience preferred, as well as experience in various teaching modalities; online, hybrid synchronous and asynchronous.
• An equivalent combination of applicable teaching experience and education will be considered.
• Experience using Canvas Learning Management System, or similar LMS preferred.
• The ability to remain flexible, employ a range of teaching methods, and effectively incorporate technology into the teaching/learning process.
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, organizational and record-keeping skills all necessary.
