Adjunct Faculty - Microbiology
About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing seeks adjunct instructors to teach on campus and in-person. This position requires a master’s degree or higher in the discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours relevant to the discipline. Applicants must have two years of practical experience in the course content area or three years of experience if the degree is in an unrelated field. A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using various teaching methods including lectures and demonstrations.
- Evaluate student achievements through administering oral, written, or performance tests.
- Evaluate student performance and identify those at risk of not succeeding, referring them to the Student Success Coordinator.
- Maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling.
- Participate in academic committees to enrich programs and students.
- Attend and participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
Requirements
A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area is required. Applicants must also have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
