About the Role

The School of Design + Art in the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology (BILT) at Marymount University invites applications from qualified individuals to teach undergraduate GMD studio courses. Depending on expertise, courses may include Adobe CC, digital photography, videography, motion graphics, digital publishing, web design, UX/UI, or design communications. Faculty will follow a pre-prepared syllabus and curriculum delivered through Canvas, teaching face-to-face courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach designated courses, keeping materials current and engaging with students through discussions and hands-on activities.
  • Continuously grade assignments and monitor student performance.
  • Maintain appropriate office hours and support students in their educational and career journeys.
  • Collaborate with the GMD Program Manager to identify new subjects, guest speakers, and potential adjuncts.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and/or substantial professional experience in the design industry.
  • Five years of professional experience in the field preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software and processes using Adobe CC in a Mac environment.
  • Experience teaching in higher education preferred.

Pay

Adjuncts receive $1,200 per credit hour on a semester basis.

Part-time, exempt position with no benefits eligibility. Candidates must submit a letter of interest, CV, and a portfolio (20 images max or digital link) showcasing professional and student work.
