About the Role

Lone Star College-Magnolia Center seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Geology to provide high-quality instruction in Earth Sciences. This role focuses on planning, developing, and teaching courses that engage students and support academic success in alignment with LSC’s mission to foster lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Geology and Earth Sciences courses across various times and locations, including day, evening, and weekend classes.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote student involvement and learning.
  • Advise students and evaluate their progress toward course objectives.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and orientations.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to instruction as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Geology/Earth Sciences.
  • Strong content mastery and subject-matter expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or assisting undergraduate courses.
  • Theoretical expertise in one or more Geoscience disciplines.

Schedule

  • Part-time, semester-by-semester appointment.
  • Maximum teaching load: five classes per academic year.
  • Classes held in-person at LSC-Magnolia Center.
  • Flexible teaching schedule with opportunities for day, evening, and weekend classes.

Pay

$55.44 per contact hour.
