About the Role

The Department of Geology within the School of Earth and Environment and College of Science and Mathematics seeks qualified candidates to teach 100-level introductory and gateway geology courses, including:

  • Physical Geology
  • Earth Through Time
  • Earthquakes and Volcanoes
  • Dinosaurs and Their World

Rowan University is a Carnegie-classified Doctoral University (Moderate Research Activity) with approximately 25,000 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The Jean & Ric Edelman Fossil Park, located only 4 miles from campus, provides unique teaching resources. The campus is situated on the Atlantic Coastal Plain, offering access to Holocene through Cretaceous outcrops, including a K/Pg section at the quarry. The Piedmont and Appalachian provinces are 20 minutes and 1 hour away, respectively, while the Atlantic coast and Delaware Bay estuary are within an hour’s drive.

Requirements

  • MS or higher degree in Geology or a related science
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (University will not sponsor a visa for this position)

Pay

Adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
