Program Operation

Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide course syllabus to students and follow syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to college policy. Submit requested information within established timelines.

Students

Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and/or provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program chair to resolve issues.

Instruction

  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s), notifying program chair of unexpected absences.
  • Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • A qualified faculty member in Engineering meets both of the following criteria:
    • Possess an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in an engineering discipline, and
    • One of the following: Two years' work experience in an Engineering field, or Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • For ENGR 116: Must either meet the above Engineering qualifications or meet both of the following criteria:
    • Possess an earned baccalaureate degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a Technology discipline, and
    • Two years' work experience in an Engineering field
  • For ENGR 140 and ENGR 160: Must either meet the above Engineering qualifications or meet both of the following criteria:
    • Possess an earned baccalaureate degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, and
    • Two years' work experience in an Engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with/knowledge of: SolidWorks or another parametric modeling software, Materials and material processing theory and testing equipment, Solving static and dynamic mechanical systems with and without calculus, Programming in C++ or MATLAB, Circuit theory and design, Engineering project design and teamwork
