Adjunct Faculty - DMS General

Responsibilities

• Teach in the DMS general’s scanning lab courses to undergraduate students.
• Teach introductory scanning techniques in abdominal and gynecological imaging protocols.
• Provide feedback to students on protocols and quizzes and exams.
• Give instructions on the use of the OB/GYN simulator.
• Work as a team with colleagues to instruct the students and manage the lab activities.
• Proctor classes, quizzes, and exams.
• Possibly work open lab assignments - required to be present and available for instruction and assistance for students who may drop in during open lab sessions.
• Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
• Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
• Use the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students.
• Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms.
• Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in medical sonography.
• Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and techniques.
• Ability to teach and mentor students effectively.
• Experience working in a clinical setting.
