About the role

This is an in-person position for adjunct faculty members who will teach courses on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities include creating a learning environment, providing effective instruction and assessment, maintaining student records, and being available to students outside of scheduled class times.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a learning environment that supports student success.
  • Teach and facilitate student learning according to assigned syllabi.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance and grading records.
  • Be available to students outside of scheduled class times to answer questions and provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and consult with program coordinators as needed.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted courses.
  • Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc., as appropriate.
  • In case of emergency absence, notify the program/department chair.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity.

Requirements

  • A copy of unofficial transcripts is required to be considered for faculty roles.
  • Must possess an earned master’s degree or higher in information technology, or an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree with specific certifications and experience.
  • Must have two years of in-field professional employment and documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence.
  • Must have relevant additional information technology coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework.
  • Must have professional certification in the information technology field.

Qualifications

  • A qualified faculty member in Cyber Security/Information Assurance (CSIA) must meet the program standard through one of the specified routes.

SkillsAbility to effectively communicate and engage with diverse student populations.
  • Proficiency in using technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience in information technology teaching and assessment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    Pay

    $47.35 per classroom contact hour.

    Schedule

    Day, evening, and/or Saturday classes based on class schedule and enrollment.
