Adjunct Faculty, Computer Information Technology

About the Role

Lone Star College (LSC) is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Computer Information Technology courses. This part-time position involves planning, developing, and teaching courses that facilitate student learning and contribute to the college's educational environment. Adjunct faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester basis, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. Classes are offered at various times and locations, including day, evening, and weekend schedules.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Computer Information Technology courses at various times and locations
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner
• Utilizes a course syllabus following institutional guidelines
• Meets with and advises students through various methods
• Evaluates student progress and provides timely feedback
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
• Attends required meetings, trainings, and orientations
• Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer information technology, computer engineering, computer-based information systems, instructional technology, or business/computer-related field
• 3 years of non-teaching work experience in the field or industry certification(s)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in mobile app development and/or web programming

Pay

$55.44 per contact hour
