About the role

Waubonsee Community College is seeking an adjunct instructor for Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity to teach various courses across its three campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver curriculum and provide instruction in designated courses.
  • Perform student learning assessment and meet all college deadlines for attendance, grades, and data collection.
  • Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments that align with established course descriptions, program, course, and college learning outcomes.
  • Incorporate learning-centered principles and motivate students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
  • Integrate instructional and classroom technology appropriately and effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
  • Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.
  • Preferred: Teaching Cybersecurity or a related field at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
  • Experience teaching traditionally underserved populations.
  • Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning.
  • Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities, including face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex.
  • Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification preferred.

Pay

Minimum pay per course: $3,363.00 - $3,363.00
