Adjunct Faculty - College of Nursing - Advanced Pathophysiology
Duties and Responsibilities
Understand the course objectives for the course which adjunct faculty is assigned and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the College of Nursing.
Provide supervision of students in the classroom (in-person or online) or clinical setting.
If a clinical course, visit students in their precepted clinical sites at least two times a semester.
Provide supervision of students in weekly case presentations groups.
Prepare students to develop competent clinical decision-making capability by facilitating sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking techniques.
Foster communication skills with preceptors and course faculty.
Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence based practice.
If in clinical course, evaluate students’ clinical practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives by completing a formal Clinical Evaluation.
Guide students in their growth within the nursing profession.
Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific and evidence-based concepts to meet course objectives.
Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of course and clinical objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in discipline; Experience in discipline required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in academic teaching and willingness to be flexible in fulfilling responsibilities.
Doctoral Degree Preferred.
