About the role
Adjunct Faculty at Seminole State College of Florida are responsible for teaching assigned courses, engaging in professional development, utilizing the College’s Online Learning Management System (CANVAS), and maintaining open communication with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Developing and posting syllabi in accordance with College guidelines.
- Preparing and delivering instruction, including using assigned instructional materials.
- Designing assignments and assessments to support student learning.
- Grading student work and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining open communication with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Participating in professional development opportunities.
- Validating textbooks, posting course syllabi, class/grade rosters, and submitting final student grades by established deadlines.
- Remaining current with CANVAS usage as required by departmental guidelines.
- Responding in a timely manner to communication from students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Working with other faculty to support curricula improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution.
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist License.
- At least three years of ICU experience.
- Master’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution (desired).
- Demonstrated understanding of the learning-centered approach to teaching.

Pay
Adjunct faculty are paid according to Seminole State College’s Non-Bargaining Unit Salary Schedule, based on the instructor’s highest degree earned.
