Job Summary
Emphasis will be placed on teaching students in on-ground lecture and laboratory courses. Courses offered include:
- CHEM 1010/1020 – Introductory Chemistry I & II with laboratory
- CHEM 1110/1120 – General Chemistry I & II with laboratory
- CHEM 2010/2020 – Organic Chemistry I & II with laboratory
Chemistry courses are offered at the following campuses: Oak Ridge, Roane, Cumberland, and Campbell County. Teaching loads may include day or evening hours and/or satellite campuses.

Job Duties
Teaching students in on-ground lecture and laboratory courses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates qualifying to teach Introductory/General Chemistry lectures must have a minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 or more graduate semester hours in chemistry from a regionally accredited institution.
- Candidates qualifying to teach Organic Chemistry lectures must have graduate coursework in organic chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching lecture and laboratories is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to teach traditional face-to-face classes.
- Use of technology (Zoom, D2L) to support student learning is expected.
