POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Biology seeks applications for adjunct instructors for one or more of the following courses: General Chemistry I or II Lecture, General Chemistry I or II Laboratory.
About the role
Vanguard seeks professionals of Christian faith who are committed to integration of faith and learning in their respective fields. The applicants must have demonstrated teaching ability and a commitment to working with students of color and encouraging diversity.
Responsibilities
- Teach the above-mentioned coursework in chemistry.
- Transfer knowledge including theory, practical skills, methods and techniques in his/her related field.
- Facilitate the learning of first-generation college students and incorporate culturally-relevant pedagogy within the classroom.
- Collaborate with department faculty in curriculum implementation, student support and continuous program improvement.
Requirements
- Master's degree (MS or MA) or higher in Chemistry, biochemistry or related field. A Bachelor's degree will be considered.
- Demonstrated teaching ability.
- A vibrant Christian faith and commitment to an integration of faith and learning.

- Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in Chemistry, biochemistry or related field.
Skills
- Ability to teach General Chemistry I or II Lecture and/or Laboratory.

Benefits
Part-time position. Salary range: $3,120 to $3,720 per course. Total compensation is based on the number of courses taught and corresponding units for each course.
