Responsibilities

  • Teach, supervise, and evaluate students in clinical settings (hospital, community, skill or simulation laboratories).
  • Identify appropriate clinical assignments based on course objectives.
  • Facilitate students meeting course objectives by providing appropriate learning experiences.
  • Evaluate student performance in meeting clinical objectives.
  • Maintain communication with course lead faculty and Director of Clinical Services.
  • Attend all required NSU and clinical facility training and orientation programs.
  • Complete lab referrals as indicated for individual students.
  • Complete anecdotal records as indicated for individual students.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clinical facilities.

Requirements

  • Recent clinical experience and knowledge of assigned clinical rotation.
  • Basic understanding of electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate student performance.
  • Ability to communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in writing.
  • Create a climate that is conducive to learning.
  • Model professional behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical and classroom teaching experience in undergraduate nursing program preferred.
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Florida RN or APRN license.
  • Current immunizations (as required by clinical facilities).
  • Basic Life Support and/or other certifications related to teaching assignment.
