Adjunct Faculty, Biology (North Campus)
Broward College, one of the largest state colleges in the country with approximately 50,000 students and 4,000 employees, seeks a part-time Biology instructor committed to student success and the college’s mission of educational attainment and economic well-being in South Florida.
About the role
The ideal candidate will share the college’s commitment to educating students and supporting the surrounding community. Prior college teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of computer literacy and a strong dedication to teaching.
Minimum Education
- Master’s degree in Biology or a Biological Science subfield
- OR Master’s degree AND 18 graduate credit hours in Biology or a Biological Science subfield
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate mastery of the discipline, commitment to student success, technological competence, and effective student engagement strategies
- Employ teaching methods that accommodate diverse academic preparation levels and incorporate engaging technology across instructional modalities
- Implement responsive pedagogical techniques to meet the needs of different learners
- Adapt instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better engage and support students
- Engage in student consultation, course preparation, syllabus development, and outline review
- Provide prompt feedback on assessments and activities, and respond to student emails in a timely manner
- Adhere to reporting deadlines for grades, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption
- Participate in college and community service
