About the Role

Adjunct faculty members at Colorado Mountain College assist students in their learning process by utilizing available resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. The college seeks innovative facilitators of learning who are passionate about teaching and extending academic opportunities to all students. While teaching is the primary responsibility, faculty are also encouraged to engage in scholarly endeavors and service activities to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and evaluate student learning.
• Develop and submit course outlines, syllabi, and measurable course objectives.
• Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms.
• Hold office hours and provide student consultation.
• Assist with advising, orientation, registration, and student recruitment.
• Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise and learning.
• Participate in service activities, including campus and college committees, assessment, program review, and mentoring peers.
• Represent the college professionally in the community and promote a positive public image.
• Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
• Adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College.
• May require travel and evening and/or weekend hours.

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in the specific field for the position or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in a related field (e.g., business, finance, management, or marketing for business positions).
• Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct experience; higher education teaching experience preferred.
• Strong background in computers, technology, and pedagogy, with at least two years of teaching experience.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, research, analyze data, and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of diverse backgrounds.
• Must perform assigned duties within the State of Colorado and accurately report work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.

Working Conditions

• Constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving.
• Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling, and reaching with hands/arms.
• Frequent use of finger movements and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
• Constant written and oral communication, with occasional reasoning, analysis, and calculations.
• Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment; occasional driving.

Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records report (when applicable) is required.
