Adjunct Faculty - Automotive
About the role
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. They are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided; making optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods; developing/maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintaining accurate student records, grades, and other requirements; engaging with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leading to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College; showing evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning; interacting with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner; complying with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations; ensuring knowledge of and implementing emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
Responsibilities
- Delivers assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
- Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
- Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.
- Meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Pay
The pay for this position is determined based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate and the needs of the department. Salary ranges are competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position varies depending on the needs of the department and the availability of the adjunct faculty member. Typically, adjunct faculty members are hired for one or two semesters per year.
