About the Role
Provides instruction for assigned courses during designated academic terms and contributes to the mission, vision, goals, and values of the institution and its academic division. Includes developing, planning, delivering, and evaluating theoretical, laboratory, and/or clinical course components. Participates in ongoing, systematic evaluation processes to support program quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates core values.
- Leads course activities, classroom, lab, and/or clinical as assigned, in alignment with course credits, course objectives, and available resources.
- Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates the theoretical, laboratory, and/or clinical components of assigned courses. Applies organizational values and philosophy in work activities and interactions with others.
- Develops as an educator by systematically delivering, assessing, evaluating, and updating assigned courses to improve course quality.
- Engages with students as scholars by conveying subject matter expertise utilizing evidence-based practice and methods that promote critical thinking.
- Applies current scholarship in relevant fields to maintain currency of course content and materials. Participates in formal and informal department ongoing systematic evaluation of the program and organization, as appropriate.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures. Supports committee decisions and offers input as appropriate in development of educational policies.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate credits completed in area of teaching responsibility required.
- Doctoral degree preferred.
- Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree may be eligible based on extensive experience in field of practice.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
