Job Description

The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • For the following courses: ACC 1001, 1002, 1025, 1032, 1033, 1035, 1038, 1075, 2011, 2012, 2026, 2031, 2065, 2068, 2075, 2089:
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or business education plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience in the last seven years OR
    • Associate of applied science degree in accounting or business plus 4,000 hours of experience in the accounting field.
  • For the following courses: ACC 1011, 1012, 1021, 1022:
    • Master’s degree in accounting or business administration plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience in the last seven years OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or business education plus 4,000 hours of relevant industry experience in the last seven years.
  • For the following courses: BUS 1011, 1020, 2003, 2081, 2085, 2089:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, business education, or related business content area plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Associate of applied science degree in business plus 4,000 hours of industry experience within the last seven years.
  • For the following courses: BUS 1015, 2016, 2017:
    • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree or master’s degree in business, business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, business education, or public administration or master’s degree including 18 graduate level credit hours in one of the disciplines they will be teaching plus 2,000 hours of industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field (see listing in the master’s section) plus 4,000 hours of industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Substantial experience (more than ten years) of small business ownership.
  • For the following course: BUS 2026:
    • Master’s degree in math or statistics plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field, math, or statistics plus 4,000 hours of industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Substantial experience (more than ten years) of small business ownership.
  • For the following courses: MAN 1002, 1004, 1016, 1017, 1025, 1028, 1075, 2000, 2005, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2024, 2026, 2030, 2040, 2041, 2043, 2075, 2078, 2087:
    • Master of business administration degree plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, business education, marketing, public administration, finance, or a related business field plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Associate of applied science degree in a business related field plus 4,000 hours of industry experience within the last seven years.
  • For the following course: MAN 2025:
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or business education plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Associate of applied science degree in accounting or business plus 4,000 hours of experience in the accounting field within the last seven years.
  • For the following courses: MAR 1011, 1017, 1055, 1060, 1078, 1085, 2016, 2020, 2035, 2040, 2055, 2075, 2078, 2660:
    • Master of business administration degree plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, business education, marketing, public administration, finance, or a related business field plus 2,000 hours of relevant industry experience within the last seven years OR
    • Associate of applied science degree in a business related field plus 4,000 hours of industry experience within the last seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

However, upon hire current Aims Community College Faculty are not required to submit transcripts if official transcripts are already on file.

Screening/Selection In order to be considered please provide a thorough and complete application. Initial screening will be conducted by a committee based on completed application materials. Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay. Upon hire, all positions at Aims Community College require a criminal background check, and may require industry specific screenings such as an MVR, physical and/or drug screen. Keep in mind, a conviction does not automatically preclude candidates from being employed. The nature of a conviction will be considered relative to the duties of the position.
