Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions in Accounting. Applicants must reside in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, or DC. Positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed and may be located on the Fauquier Campus, Middletown Campus, or Luray-Page County Center.
Responsibilities
- Teach college-level accounting courses, including distance learning (online, hybrid, or in-person) on and off campus during the day, evening, and weekends.
- Utilize instructional technology in teaching.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Accounting, or
- Master’s degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Taxation) with eighteen (18) graduate semester credits in Accounting, and a preference of a minimum of two years of full-time (or full-time equivalent) related work experience, or
- An alternative credential approved by the Chief Academic Officer, such as a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business, or Finance with significant certifications (e.g., CPA) demonstrating competency in accounting topics, and a minimum of two years of full-time (or full-time equivalent) related work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Skills
- Occupational experience in the field of accounting.
- Experience with Canvas or other online course management tools (preferred).
- College-level teaching experience, with online teaching experience a plus.
Pay
The credit hour pay range is $794.00–$1,375.50.
Schedule
- Adjunct faculty teach a variety of day, evening, and weekend classes.
- Classes may be online, hybrid, or in-person and may require work at any of the college’s sites, centers, or campuses.
