Responsibilities
- Teach English Composition Courses: Instruct students in English Composition I and II, adhering to the college's curriculum guidelines and standards.
- Course Preparation and Delivery: Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives and learning outcomes.
- Student Engagement: Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
- Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student performance through essays, assignments, and other assessment methods. Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the department's initiatives and activities.
- Compliance: Adhere to college policies, procedures, and academic standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in English, Composition, Rhetoric, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of English composition theories and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to engage and inspire a diverse student population. Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
- Personal Attributes: Commitment to student success and academic excellence. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with online teaching platforms and digital resources for composition instruction.
