Adjunct - Color and 2D Design

About the role

The School of Design + Art in the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology (BILT) invites applications from qualified individuals to teach undergraduate Art studio courses. Color and 2D Design is a foundation course for all students in the School of Design and Art. Applicants will follow the existing syllabus and set curriculum delivered through Canvas. Faculty teach high-quality courses in both online and face-to-face settings. The School of Design + Art is committed to preparing students for local industries, from startups to large established companies.

Responsibilities

• Teach designated courses, face-to-face and/or online (synchronous and asynchronous), including updating teaching materials, engaging students in discussions and hands-on activities, grading assignments, and monitoring student performance.
• Maintain appropriate office hours and support students in their educational journey and career progression.
• Collaborate with the School of Design + Art Director to identify new subjects in the field and recommend guest speakers or adjuncts to deliver this material.

Requirements

• Master of Arts degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits directly related to the teaching field.
• Five years of professional experience in the field is preferred.
• Experience teaching in higher education or with adult learners is preferred.

Pay

Adjuncts receive $1,200 per credit hour on a semester basis and may contribute to a 403b retirement plan.

Schedule

Part-time, exempt position targeting 10 hours per week, located on the Main Campus.
