About the role

LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct Phlebotomy Non-Credit Instructor positions for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting aims to create a pool of qualified applicants for potential openings across LACCD’s nine colleges. Applicants may indicate their preferred colleges during the application process and may be invited for interviews with the Health Care Ancillaries & Vocational Education Department. Final assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of courses within the Health Care Ancillaries/Vocational Education discipline.
  • Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds, including languages, nationalities, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed or certified in California with one of the following:
    • Physician and surgeon (MD or DO).
    • Physician Assistant (PA).
    • Registered Nurse (RN).
    • Person licensed under Chapter 3 of the California Business and Professions Code.
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with 2 years' experience in the previous 5 years.
    • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or CPT II) with 3 years of experience in the previous 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Vocational positions require experience verification on letterhead stationery, including:
    • Inclusive dates of assignments.
    • Whether the position was full-time or part-time.
    • If part-time, the number of paid hours worked per week, semester, or year.
  • Compliance with LACCD’s COVID-19 vaccination policy (Board of Trustees Policy 2900). All employees must provide vaccination status prior to starting the position.

Pay

The salary for adjunct noncredit classroom instructors begins at $81.81 per standard hour. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
