About the role

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) seeks dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions in the Art discipline. These positions aim to engage and educate students, fostering inclusive and engaging educational environments.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of courses within the Art discipline.
• Create engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
• Collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
• Engage in remote learning using Canvas or other methods when necessary.

Requirements

• Master's in fine arts, art, or art history OR Bachelor's in any of these fields AND Master's in humanities.
• Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students.
• Certification in Blackboard, Canvas, or Course Compass or other online modalities.

Qualifications

• Master's in fine arts as defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and metal and jewelry art; and also, art education and art therapy.
• Eligibility for a Covid-19 vaccine.

SkillsAbility to create engaging and inclusive educational environments.

Proficiency in remote learning platforms like Canvas.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Benefits

Adjunct instructors are compensated at a starting rate of $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
