Adjunct - AY26 Health Care Ancillary Instructor, CNA Program
About the role
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) seeks dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions in the CNA Program. This announcement creates a pool of qualified applicants for future openings at LACCD's nine colleges.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site instruction in the areas of entry-level care giving for Nursing Assistants.
- Visit training sites in the areas of entry-level caregiving for Nursing Assistants.
- Plan, select, prepare, and implement appropriate active learning activities to meet all course competencies.
- Prepare, and/or select and utilize reliable and valid formative and summative in-class assessment tools/techniques to measure students' achievement of course competencies.
- Distribute, in written form, course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students at the beginning of the course.
- Deliver instruction using active learning methods which accommodate different learning styles.
- Provide guidance and advice to students as regarding course progress, program areas, or other academic concerns.
- Review and revise as necessary delivery methods, instructional materials, learning activities, and assessment tools.
- Work collaboratively with hospital administrators, colleagues, and practitioners to integrate instructional activities and materials.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR Associate's degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
- NATP Instructor Required Qualifications: Two years of Nursing Experience, RN (Resume showing work experience, include month/year of work experience, name, and address of employer, contact telephone number for Human Resources or Administration to validate the work experience, and name of supervisor).
- One-year verifiable experience as licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting.
- Completion of a course in teaching adults (must include certificate of completion) or 1 year of verifiable experience in teaching adults or 1 year of verifiable experience supervising nurses' aides.
Eligibility Requirement
Covid 19 Vaccination: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy.

Compensation
The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
