Adjunct Assistant Professor - Hourly
About the role
The University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth is excited to announce the formation of its College of Nursing. The position seeks applications for Adjunct Assistant Professors who will assist lead faculty with clinical/simulation, didactic, lab, and course development.
Responsibilities
- Assist course lead faculty in assigned courses with the assessment and evaluation of students in clinical, simulation, and didactic settings.
- Communicate student progress, performance concerns, and learning challenges in a timely and professional manner to course lead faculty.
- Facilitate learning experiences and manage challenging or sensitive conversations in a manner that promotes a psychologically safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Educate students on discipline-specific and evidence-based practices aligned with course objectives and program outcomes.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to support the delivery of a competency-based curriculum, including formative and summative assessment and feedback.
- Serve as a liaison and ambassador to assigned clinical facilities, fostering positive relationships and supporting alignment between academic expectations and clinical practice environments.
Requirements
- A Master's Degree in Nursing
- A valid, unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of Texas or eligibility for licensure
- Knowledge, skills and abilities: strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with all colleagues and students, demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level preferred, knowledge of the nursing profession and the role of a Registered Nurse, ability to perform the duties and skills of the registered nurse aligned with professional experience, evaluation of students in the clinical setting, including simulation, supervision of students during clinical/simulation hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree preferred
- 2-years practice experience
- Prior adjunct experience
- Training or education related to Nursing Education
- Understanding of competency based assessments
- Experience in evidence-based simulation
Skills
