Adjunct Assistant Professor - Criminal Justice (Corrections)

About the Role

Adjunct teaching positions are periodically available in Farmingdale's Bachelor of Science degree programs in Criminal Justice: Law Enforcement Technology (LET) and Police Courts and Corrections (PCC). These programs prepare students for careers in law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels.

• The LET program blends coursework in computers, forensic science, crime prevention, technology, and law to equip students with skills for crime control and investigations.
• The PCC program combines coursework in policing, courts, and corrections to prepare students for careers across criminal justice disciplines.

This posting seeks individuals with education and experience in Corrections to teach courses such as Corrections and Reentry, Probation and Parole, and/or Policy and Program Evaluation. Applicants should possess specific knowledge of corrections from an administrative perspective, including policy development and implementation within the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Corrections and Reentry, Probation and Parole, and/or Policy and Program Evaluation.
• Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and university initiatives supportive of diversity and inclusion.
• Participate in student-centered service activities.
• Apply expertise in promoting civic engagement with the College's community partners.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
• Candidates with Master's Degrees in other disciplines may be considered if they demonstrate education, experience, and/or scholarship in corrections.
• Administrative experience in corrections is preferred.
