Adjunct Assistant Professor, Automation Engineer Technology
Adjunct faculty position in the Industrial Maintenance/Automation program.
About the role
Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is seeking a qualified candidate to teach sections of courses within the Industrial Maintenance/Automation program. Classes may be scheduled during both daytime and evening hours. The role also includes participation in professional development and service to the division, college, and community.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses such as Maintenance Principles, Fluid Power, Electrical Theory, PLC, and Robotics.
- Lecture and demonstrate within a class or lab environment using established curriculum.
- Participate in professional development and service activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to teach safety practices in the industrial maintenance field.
- Proficiency in working with industrial tools and operations, including pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending, rigging, and lifting.
- Associate’s degree.
- Five years of relevant work experience.
- Unofficial transcripts required for consideration.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of related experience.
- Industry-recognized certification.
- At least two years of experience teaching in a vocational setting.
- Prior experience developing curriculum related to industrial principles.
Pay
$1,262–$1,404 per credit hour, determined by relevant years of work experience and in accordance with the master agreement.
