Adjunct Assistant Professor

About the role

Adjunct Assistant Faculty in the School of Dentistry's Comprehensive Care Clinic oversee, teach, and direct pre-doctoral students in the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, and management of dental patients. They support Group Leaders in evaluating the clinical and professional development of students. Faculty must be proficient in teaching, demonstrating, and assessing general practice-level procedures in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, and periodontics, as well as assessing and managing dental emergencies. They are expected to support all clinical policies and procedures of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

This is a 20% time position. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and teach pre-doctoral students in comprehensive dental care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management.
• Support Group Leaders in evaluating students' clinical and professional development.
• Teach, demonstrate, and assess general practice-level procedures in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, and periodontics.
• Assess and manage dental emergencies.
• Uphold and support all clinical policies and procedures of the School of Dentistry.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree.
• License to practice dentistry in Minnesota.
• In good standing with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.
• Five or more years' experience in the practice of general dentistry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in clinical or preclinical teaching.
• Experience in a community outreach setting.
• AEGD or GPR certificate.

Pay and Benefits

• Pay Range: $8,456 (depending on education, qualifications, and experience).
